Access violation on startup

Apr 29, 2012 at 4:20 PM

Greetings

I have just started using the MCE DLL with LCD Smartie. Unfortuntely, about every 3 out of 4 times I will get an access violation upon start of LCD Smartie.

"Load of plugin failed: Plugin MCE_dll.dll had an exception durint Init: Access violation at address 761843DF in module 'msvcrt.dll. Read of address 0031F6CD".

What is causing this?

Can you tell me which Operating system you are using, which version and if it is up to date (e.g. Win7 x32, automatic updates)

can you also tell me which functions you are calling or attach a copy of your LCDSmartie config.ini

can you also include a copy of the MCE_dll.cfg and .ini files please?

Regards,

Dave

Have you tried this:

Hi Dave

Thanks for responding. It’s a Win 7 Ultimate x64 system, fully updated. Do not have automatic updates enabled but I installed all the latest updates a couple of days ago.

I am just calling the following:

$dll(MCE_dll.dll,1,,)

$dll(MCE_dll.dll,2,,)

.cfg and .ini files attached.

Best,

P-O

Sorry but the attachments didn't seem to come through - could you try again and could you check if there's a file mce_dll.log in the plugins directory and send it as well if there is please.

This sounds very like a problem I have with another plugin which i've been working on and possibly found a solution. If I have then you should see a fix in a few days once it's been tested by another user.

Zipped this time. There is no log file unfortunately.

Also the proposed workaround at the link you sent did not help.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm still not able to see the attachment. Can you email it to me directly at dave@perrow.net please.

Hi again,

could you also edit the mce_dll.cfg file and change debug=0 to Debug=1

(note the upper case D) rerun LCDSmartie and this should generate a log file.
